CONSTRUCTION
Fibreglass Composite Walls – XPS Core, Reinforced Roof
The Solid 16 shell is a fibreglass composite sandwich panel with an XPS insulated core, constructed as a single integrated structure rather than a frame clad in panels. That distinction matters: there are no internal framing joins for water to find, no flex between materials, and no delamination risk over time. The roof is thickened beyond standard spec. It takes more UV exposure, more weather, and more rooftop load than any other panel – so it is built accordingly. The result is a shell that stays sealed, straight, and structurally sound for the life of the van.
WEIGHT ENGINEERING
Class-Leading Weight Balance
ATM 2,980kg. Tare 2,250kg. Ball weight 180kg. Those numbers are only part of the story. The Solid 16 is balanced left-to-right as well as front-to-back. Componentry placement and layout are engineered specifically to keep the van level side-to-side under load. The difference on the road is immediate: the van sits planted, tracks predictably, and tows without the pendulum effect that unbalanced weight distribution creates. Most manufacturers balance the numbers on paper. We balance the van.
TRAVERSABILITY
480mm Ground Clearance – Clean Underbelly Design
480mm of ground clearance handles rutted tracks, creek lips, rocky shelf crossings, and rough camp access without drama. Below the clearance line, the underbelly is deliberately clean. No batteries. No exposed wiring runs – with the sole exception of fully waterproofed brake cabling. When you drive through water, there is nothing down there to short out, corrode, or strand you. That is not a fortunate by-product of the design. It is the design.
SUSPENSION
Pedders Shocks – Timken Bearings – In-House Design
The suspension system is engineered in-house, then paired with Pedders shock absorbers and Timken heavy-duty bearings – components with a proven track record in demanding Australian conditions. Pedders shocks deliver controlled damping over corrugations and uneven terrain. Timken bearings are rated for sustained off-road loads. Together, they allow the suspension geometry to perform as designed, rather than being limited by the components beneath it.
ELECTRICAL
Full Renogy System – Dedicated Service Bay
The Solid 16 runs a complete Renogy electrical control system: smarter monitoring, cleaner interface, and real-time visibility over the van's power state. It is the system most serious off-grid travellers already trust. Paired with a purpose-built service bay that gives direct, organised access to every electrical component. Laid out logically. Accessible without removing panels or hunting for connectors. When something needs checking – or when a technician needs access – everything is exactly where you expect it to be.
OFF-GRID POWER
Off-Grid Ready – Standard. Not an Upgrade.
314Ah lithium battery. 400W rooftop solar. 190L fresh water in twin 95L tanks. All standard. For buyers who want to go further, optional upgrades extend to 900Ah lithium and 800W solar. But the standard configuration is not a starter pack – it is a genuine off-grid setup that handles extended remote touring without supplementary power.
COMFORT SYSTEMS
Instant Hot Water – Stable Power – Built-In Safety
Instant hot water on demand – no timing, no rationing, no waiting. A DC-DC voltage stabiliser keeps power delivery consistent. A diaphragm pump with accumulator tank keeps water pressure steady. The systems work together so nothing flickers or surges. Safety is built in as standard – not as optional extras. A standalone photoelectric smoke detector, carbon monoxide alarm, and gas alarm come fitted to every Solid 16. The same baseline you expect at home.
KITCHEN
Dual Indoor/Outdoor Kitchen
An indoor induction cooktop for clean, efficient cooking when the weather dictates it. A full outdoor gas cooktop for open-air cooking when it doesn't. Both are plumbed with dual hot and cold water. The choice of where to cook is yours. The capability is the same either way.

Dual Pull-Out Storage Bays
Two external slide-out bays give you flexible, accessible storage for a portable fridge, a BBQ, recovery gear, or whatever your trip demands. Pull out. Access. Go.

A full king-size bed at night. A proper face-to-face lounge by day. The conversion is simple, and both configurations actually work – the sleeping space is genuinely spacious, the lounge is genuinely comfortable. The interior footprint is used for living, not for looking good in a showroom photo.

700kg+ Payload – Storage That Fills It
Generous internal cabinetry and substantial external compartments give you the space to pack for the trip you are actually planning. 700kg+ of usable payload gives you permission to use all of it. Space and payload are engineered together. A van with plenty of storage and no payload capacity is a van you end up under-packing. The Solid 16 does not ask you to choose.
