Ground Clearance

Every model features a minimum ground clearance of 480mm, translating directly into greater passability across uneven surfaces. This higher clearance significantly reduces underbody contact risk, ensuring critical components stay safe from water ingress and impact across Australia's harshest terrains.

Ground Clearance

At Periple RV, every model is built with a minimum ground clearance of 480mm — a specification that directly translates into greater passability across uneven surfaces, water crossings, and varied terrain conditions encountered throughout Australia.

Ground clearance plays a critical role in a caravan's ability to safely navigate undulating tracks, causeways, and flooded or low-lying sections of road. A higher clearance reduces the risk of underbody contact with the ground, rocks, or debris, and allows for safer passage through water crossings by keeping critical components further from water ingress and impact.

At Periple RV, this consideration extends beyond the clearance measurement itself. All electrical conduits and wiring are positioned above the 480mm clearance line. The sole component situated below this line is the electric brake line, which has been specifically engineered with waterproof protection to maintain reliable performance during water crossings and in wet conditions.

This approach reflects a broader design philosophy at Periple RV: every component's placement is considered not only for performance, but for long-term reliability under real-world Australian conditions. Each wiring configuration is tested locally prior to production, ensuring consistency and durability across every unit that leaves our facility.

For customers seeking a caravan suited to a wide range of touring conditions — from established roads to more remote and variable terrain — this combination of generous ground clearance and protected electrical systems offers a meaningful point of difference, particularly among caravans within a comparable price range.
